[Desmond thinks he's getting the hang of the castle. On and off, all day, he's been alternating between lounging around the living area and badgering people to come explore the castle with him -- not very far, of course, but just enough to get a proper feel for the place. He wants to go back to the tower. He wants to check the sarcophagus room to see if anyone else showed up. He wants to see what's waiting on the other side of the dorms. He wants to climb all over ancient, crumbling architecture for the hell of it.]

[It'll probably get annoying for everyone else, after a while, but for now Desmond is enjoying himself.]

(ooc: An open 'get bugged by Desmond' post. I can come up with a reason for hm to approach and chatter at literally anyone! If there's a specific area you want your character to go to just say so in the subject line/an ooc note, or write the tag with them already in that part of the castle.)

[--oh, it's you. Kadar blinks at Desmond. Their first meeting was a little awkward, but if there's one thing Kadar has learned, it's not to judge by first meetings. Or seventh, in Altaïr's case.]

Desmond! --Hi.

[seventeenth]

[Desmond is grinning almost the moment he spots Kadar.] Hey, Kadar! [He lifts his hand in a wave. At least he seems to think Kadar is real this time.] Did you find your brother?

[kaderp]

--I did! [he perks up at this. Talking about Malik is an easy subject: Brother is mean to everyone except Kadar, and Kadar is nice to everyone even when Malik is mean to them. It works out pretty well.] I haven't found Altaïr, though...

[seventeenth]

Maybe he's just not here. [Which seems as likely to Desmond as anything.] Did you run into anyone else?

[kaderp]

Mm, a lot of people! There's-- [he frowns here, a little uncertainly.] --there's a lot of Europeans here.

[Ratchet was out exploring the main sarcophagi room today. He had his wrench in hand and was looking over one of the broken remains of the sarcophagi. He had gotten here in one of these but he couldn't find any hint of technology. How was this possible? How could he and so many others have been brought here by these things?]

Maybe...it was the sarcophagus at all...

[seventeenth]

[It doesn't take Desmond long to make his way back to the sarcophagi. Similarly, it doesn't take him long to zero in on Ratchet, either.]

What wasn't the sarcophagus?

[The Lombax is a bit preoccupied so he doesn't look up just yet.]

The thing that brought us here. There isn't any tech in these things at all.

[seventeenth]

Yeah, no kidding. [He crouches down a few feet behind the goofy-looking critter. What is he?] Course, it's hard to tell unless we can get into the wall.

[enthusiast]

[Without books, without maps, without paper, without all of those important things, Sofia doesn't have much to do. Her shoes aren't made for running or climbing, her dress isn't made for athletics, and she has always been more of an indoor girl than an explorer.

Ezio has done much to pull her out of her books, but Sofia still doesn't think of herself as someone who plays a big role in adventures.

So, as a result, she is sitting in the living area, lost in thought. Until, of course, Desmond walks by and breaks her concentration.]

Desmond! [She waves him down with a warm smile, despite everything.] You look like you're in a good mood. I wish we could all share your cheer.

[seventeenth]

Huh-- oh, hey Sofia. [Desmond grins and diverts from his path to approach the redhead. He lifts his hand to wave.] I guess I'm just easily amused, is all.

[enthusiast]

Then it's a good trait to have, in such circumstances. It'll keep people from thinking too bleakly.

[She gestures at the space next to her on the bench.]

Come, sit. If you have time, I'd like to hear more about 2012.

[seventeenth]

I've got all the time in the world, in this place. [It's not like he's got an Animus session to attend to or chores to do. He moves to take a seat next to Sofia, sprawling easily next to her.]

Anything in particular you're curious about?

[The thing about exploring any part of the castle is that it requires two people. Serge alone does not make two persons, although touring isn't exactly on his agenda. He's just looking around, and the green statue doors are . . . captivating enough, to say the least. Kind of cute in a stone age way.]

What a face.

They must be pretty skilled to get them all looking so similar. [Hey there, Desmond is lurking behind you, now. He, too, has been studying the statues.] I doubt they have machines for that sort of thing here.

[sagacity]

[Oh, what's up. Serge glances at Desmond, then back to the statues.] You're probably right. I don't think I've seen any sort of machinery outside of the phones so far.

[seventeenth]

Same here. [He steps forward to stand alongside Serge.] Everything looks pretty medieval.

[dai]

[He's back at the area where the sarcophagus lay. If anything could be said or found it could be from the beginning, where he could explore the new surroundings with a clear mind. Since that morning he had been painstakingly pushing apart pieces of the old stone that lie around, looking for something--anything really. It was at the point of frustrating but when it came to a task, Malik was a patient man. Still, it was not easy when things so easily crumbled and anything that could have been written on the inside of the tomb had faded away.

Exhaling heavily he looked up only to see the annoying figure from before traveling around the area. A puff of breath and he knelled down to turn over a side of the broken item, finding nothing etched into the surface before letting it drop to the ground again. Calling out to the other though, his emotions more clear about him he gave the other a sideways glance.]

So it's the gossiper. [He murmured.] Can you not hold still for more than a moment?

[seventeenth]

[Desmond frowns. Is that his nickname now? Leave it to Malik to come up with something insulting, he guesses.]

Not really. [Then he's grinning again.] Seems kinda pointless to not try to explore a place like this.

[dai]

Pointless perhaps. [Came his reply as he stood to his feet, looking to the other with a wary expression on his face--watching him carefully.]

But best not to expend all of your energy, boy.

[seventeenth]

[Desmond wrinkles his nose.] I'm not anywhere near the point yet. There's not much here I can get at yet.

[songulen]

[Turkey wants a better look at what he's working with in terms of area - sure, learning the layout of the inside is all well and good, but it's a castle, for fuck's sake. There's gotta be something he's missing just looking at it from in here. And he might spot something interesting from all the way up in this tower. That or get lost, but he's got a keen sense of direction, thanks, so fuck that.]

Ya realise I'm gonna be able to do fuck-all for ya if ya fall and break yer neck, right?

[seventeenth]

I won't fall. [Desmond sounds pretty confident about that. at least.] Not unless someone's throwing rocks at me or something.

[songulen]

[Dismissively:] Assholes.

The view any good?

[seventeenth]

Cops, usually. [Just that they're sometimes 15th century cops.]

[The view, though. That has Desmond grinning wryly.] It would be pretty excellent, but there's fog everywhere.
