[Desmond thinks he's getting the hang of the castle. On and off, all day, he's been alternating between lounging around the living area and badgering people to come explore the castle with him -- not very far, of course, but just enough to get a proper feel for the place. He wants to go back to the tower. He wants to check the sarcophagus room to see if anyone else showed up. He wants to see what's waiting on the other side of the dorms. He wants to climb all over ancient, crumbling architecture for the hell of it.]

[It'll probably get annoying for everyone else, after a while, but for now Desmond is enjoying himself.]

(ooc: An open 'get bugged by Desmond' post. I can come up with a reason for hm to approach and chatter at literally anyone! If there's a specific area you want your character to go to just say so in the subject line/an ooc note, or write the tag with them already in that part of the castle.)

Nope. [He leans calmly against the nearest wall.] There was a war for independence before long, and now America is its own country.

[kaderp]

Oh! [Kadar nods, understanding flashing across his face in a smile.] I understand. The future sounds -- a little complicated.

[seventeenth]

A little bit. [Desmond grins. Kadar doesn't know the half of it.] It's a little less openly cutthroat, though.

[kaderp]

The Assassins must have their work cut out for them!

[seventeenth]

Yeah, no kidding. It can get pretty crazy.

[kaderp]

You'll have to tell me all about it properly, some day. I imagine there's much for me to learn.

[seventeenth]

You have no idea. 'Much' doesn't begin to cover it.

[kaderp]

[Kadar smiles a little.] Well-- it seems like we'll have much time, here!

[seventeenth]

Looks like it. I haven't been able to look around much, but this place seems huge.

[kaderp]

It does! I haven't been able to explore as much as I want to, but-- I expect there will be time for it.

[seventeenth]

It's not like we're getting out of here any time soon, I don't think. [Though hey, speaking of:] Care to team up? It'll go a lot faster with two of us.

[kaderp]

[Kadar brightens even further.] I would enjoy that!

[seventeenth]

Where have you managed to get so far?

[kaderp]

Oh-- not very far. I have been working more on getting to know everyone here, trying to see if anyone else has additional information. Many of the doors seem to be-- closed to me, as well.

[seventeenth]

I noticed that, too. [And then Desmond gets an idea, because talking to Malik earlier had put him in the right mindset for contrariness.] The doors will open if there's two people around, and I've been looking for expedition partner, myself. If you're not busy...

[Come on, Kadar, let's go exploring!]

[kaderp]

That would be wonderful! [look at that wide smile. are we sure he's related to Malik?] I was thinking that if we could explore well enough, brother would be able to make maps-- it would help keep everything considerably more livable than it is now.

[seventeenth]

[No, he's not. It's got Desmond blinking in mild confusion before he grins.] Right, I forgot he was a cartographer. [That's got Desmond hesitating -- but only for a fraction of a second. Malik can be pissed at him if he wants -- this seems like something Kadar wants to do.]

Come on. I wanna see if there's more to explore at the top of the tower.

[kaderp]

Yes! And it will give us a good viewpoint, even if there is nothing else. [Kadar idly adjusts his head and checks himself, and is then ready to go.]

[seventeenth]

My thoughts exactly. [Desmond grins and gestures, then simply starts off at a brisk walk.]

[kaderp]

[Kadar takes a couple jogging steps before matching Desmond's pace without any effort.]

So-- have you been training for a long time?

[seventeenth]

Uhhh, sort of. [What an awkward question to answer.] It's been sort of on and off for about sixteen years.

[kaderp]

On and... off? [that gets a confused, quizzical look from Kadar.]

[seventeenth]

Yeah, you know -- I trained for a while, then stopped, then I started again.

[kaderp]

Were you injured?

[seventeenth]

No, I was just-- [brb, gonna act all evasive now] --busy.
