Everyone's waking up at once, covered in bits of rubble, temporarily without abilities and with a lurking headache. The castle looms around them, irrepressibly gray, huge and silent. The only noises are the people, rustling as they extract themselves from their sarcophagi and look for exits along the arching walkways.

Better take a look around, and see if anyone else knows what's going on.

[Oh he's... laughing at her, but not meanly, so Willow gives him a slightly sheepish smile. She'd do better if she weren't silently freaked, still.]

Well that's a relief. I didn't think my high school French would be much help here. I'm Willow.

[Wh-wh-what, what, Willow has never in her life had someone kiss her hand, and she is instantly blushing and taking her hand back. Just because she's gay doesn't mean she can't appreciate it and get flustered, but seriously, she can't encourage it.

Even if the attention and being called bella makes her feel as self-conscious as she did in high school.] Gosh, aren't you a charmer. I hope you use that Italian for good, mister, cause that is a hefty power.

[Ezio is honestly amused by her reaction, but he doesn't protest when she pulls her hand away. Some women are like that, he realizes. Better to make her comfortable rather than uncomfortable.]

I would hope so, seeing as Italian is my native language. [There's another grin at this, but he means no harm, really.]

Ezio, please. There is no reason to give me such a title.

[The teasing she's much more easy with.] Ezio it is, then, [she says, though she'd really only meant it as a joke. Getting away from the Willow embarrassing part of the conversation would be nice.]

So, um... have you had a chance to look around yet? We really need to get out of here.

[He won't push it, he's a ladies man, after all.

There's a slight nod at her question, however.]

Si, I've been looking, but haven't gotten high enough to see if there are alternate routes.

... High enough as in those itty bitty windows by the ceiling high enough?

[How exactly does he plan on getting up there? Willow gives him a suddenly assessing look.]

Of course. They're not difficult to reach, you just need patience. Practice, too.

Some of us don't practice for our future career as Spider-Man, but hey, more power to you. I wouldn't even want to try that with rope.

True, but there are some of us who have a duty, Willow.

... Never mind that. [You think her 21st century references are so easy to cut out of her lingo? Think again.

She perks up with interest when he mentions duty.] What kind of duty? Cause I'm all about fulfilling duties, as long as, you know, they don't call on me to perform physical feats of prowess. Those duties would end in pain. My pain.

[Ezio just laughs at her mentioning of pain.]

My duty is not for everyone. I have trained for many years. Still, what I do is necessary.

[He stretches out his hand again, not to give her a kiss, but to guide her around to finding an exit.]

The way you say that reminds me of someone, [she says, unintentionally cryptic.

But she reaches out and takes his hand willingly, grinning at the formality. Now that she's gotten used to it, Willow finds it entertaining more than flustering.] We shall. I have my fingers crossed for a door, personally.
