Everyone's waking up at once, covered in bits of rubble, temporarily without abilities and with a lurking headache. The castle looms around them, irrepressibly gray, huge and silent. The only noises are the people, rustling as they extract themselves from their sarcophagi and look for exits along the arching walkways.

Better take a look around, and see if anyone else knows what's going on.

[Ugh. If there's one thing she hates, it's staring. Excuse her if she bristles noticeably - but she stays awkwardly by the wall even as her tone borders somewhere on hostile and defensive. She crosses her arms for good measure, trying to seem impatient instead of self-conscious.]

What?

[angsts]

[He's groggy and confused and probably quite a few other things that would impair his judgment, so he's not entirely sure of what he's saying when he speaks.]

... Ah, so you're capable of speech.

[permutant]

[... Wow, even in this situation, she sure as hell isn't going to take that from anyone. The defensive tone turns to all-out hostility and her hands move to her hips.]

Excuse me?

[angsts]

Oh, did that offend you? I wasn't sure if you were human.

[... The sad thing is that, more than anything, this is his way of trying to make himself feel better about the entire situation. Sorry, Raven, but you're just his unfortunate victim.]

[This guy is just asking to get punched. It's okay if she punches someone who's asking for it, right?]

I'm not a human, but that doesn't mean I can't talk.

[angsts]

Was I supposed to assume that?

Yes. So, what, you just assume that anyone who isn't a human can't even talk, is that it? I'm a mutant, not an animal.

[angsts]

I can't say I've come across many non-humans with the ability of speech, no.

[permutant]

If I looked human but I wasn't, would that make a difference to you? It's just because I'm blue, right?

[angsts]

That does have something to do with it, yes. Is that common where you're from?

Not the blue. But being a mutant? Yeah, a little more so. We're still a minority, but it's not like I'm the only one.
