Everyone's waking up at once, covered in bits of rubble, temporarily without abilities and with a lurking headache. The castle looms around them, irrepressibly gray, huge and silent. The only noises are the people, rustling as they extract themselves from their sarcophagi and look for exits along the arching walkways.

Better take a look around, and see if anyone else knows what's going on.

[The thing about being groggy (and suffering from a headache he chalks up to, pity, old age) is that there's this short period of time where nothing fazes you. It's in the middle of this phase that Serge comes across Dynos, regarding him with a stifled sigh.]

Hey, Dynos.

[ . . . wait a minute -- ]

[angsts]

[... Dynos, on the other hand, is very aware of his current state—or rather, what state he should be in—groggy or not.

So his brain does comprehend that something is, in fact, wrong with this picture.]

[He looks down at the boy, then it clicks. Blinking, he does a double take, because even after Allwise this should not be possible.]

Dynos? What are you doing here?

[Never mind that he doesn't know where "here" is, either.]

That's what I want to know! And what are you doing here?

I don't know. I just woke up in some sort of casket. Judging from your reaction, I'm assuming it was the same for you.

[angsts]

That was the case, yes.

... Don't tell me you died as well.

[Because there is most definitely a Dragon Gem missing on his forearm—]

If I did, I don't remember a thing about how.

[Him, dying? He can reason with that. Him, talking to Dynos? . . . not so much. But what can he do? He's already talking to the kid.]

So we both don't know where this is, huh.

[They traveled all around Fulheim, and the closest thing this place could resemble is a tower from the Era of Loss. Even then . . . ]

[... Not that Dynos is any better at the moment, but.]

[Everything is confusing him and why couldn't he just be dead?]

Anyway, he would suggest talking with the people around them, but his immediate concern goes to Dynos' well-being. Which is a fairly ironic thought.]

I can't exactly pity you when I'm unable to sympathize.

[Because, you know, he didn't go through that dying thing. Not that that's the real reason -- when it comes to the ever stubborn Dynos, he has to work around things extra persuasively.

What he can sympathize with is the head- and backache. Eugh.]

Calm down. Getting angry isn't going to help.

I say we look around. See if we can find someone else we know.

[Except with more dead-ness. This is kind of unbelievably amusing when he thinks about it.]
