Everyone's waking up at once, covered in bits of rubble, temporarily without abilities and with a lurking headache. The castle looms around them, irrepressibly gray, huge and silent. The only noises are the people, rustling as they extract themselves from their sarcophagi and look for exits along the arching walkways.

Better take a look around, and see if anyone else knows what's going on.

I'm sorry, this is just... it's so sudden, and frankly, majorly creepy.

... And I suppose 'sudden' is one way of putting it.

It's just, you know, not that common.

[Since they're apparently relating now (at least in her head), Willow sighs, letting some of her aggravation go.] Sudden isn't the least of it. This is Spanish Inquisition levels of unexpected.

[Well, he's thinking of a different kind of sudden, as in a "I wasn't supposed to wake up ever again" kind of sudden, but he'll just keep quiet about that.]

Did you have a really bad public education system? ... Wait, are you seriously saying magic is commonplace? Back the bus up, I need-- context. Something.

Hmm? Olquina. I would assume that you're from the Empire or the Republic, but I believe there are pieces missing here.

... Nooooo. Definitely not any of those places. [Staring now.]

I'm from California, in uh, America. Which is actually not an empire despite our foreign policy.

[angsts]

So I'm just gonna guess that you're from some other dimension, cause this is all pretty weird. [It wouldn't be the first time it'd happened to them.] My name's Willow.

[angsts]

This just gets stranger and stranger...

[There's a pause as he frowns, because none of this makes sense to him, before he speaks again.]

... Dynos.

Nice to meet you, I guess? Strange is looking like the least of it.

[Willow takes a better look around the room, assessing.] I don't know if our magic is going to come back any time soon, but staying here like sitting ducks doesn't seem like a good idea. Someone put us in those things, so someone knows where we are.

[angsts]

In that case, I doubt that they'll be very cooperative. However, there's no point in wasting our time, I agree.

[guiltapalooza]

People that own castles tend not to be cooperative. I got that one from Dracula. [Yup, there sure was Dracula carting a castle into her California town stone by stone... Willow is so jaded.]

Come on, let's go check things out. Our magic will return eventually.

[angsts]

Dracula...?

[Nope, not ringing any bells. Nevertheless, he nods.]

What, I'm the arbiter of magic now? It's not like I had anything to do with this, [she retorts, even as she sets off in some direction to start exploring.

She's totally comfortable shifting from pleasant, productive conversation to vaguely antagonistic heckling at the drop of a pin, and back.]

[angsts]

You certainly acted like one.

[Well, following, since he doesn't really know what else to do right now.

Impressive. Dynos, unfortunately, has almost no modes other than vaguely antagonistic to just plain antagonistic, whoops.]

You're just all about the making friends and influencing people, aren't you?

[She's finding it hard to keep taking it personally when it, well, so obviously isn't personal on his part. Gonna keep walking aimlessly in whatever direction that was -- the room is so huge and open it takes a while to walk across it.]

[He rubs his forearms at where his Dragon Gems should be—it feels strange, not having them there anymore—as he follows.]
