Everyone's waking up at once, covered in bits of rubble, temporarily without abilities and with a lurking headache. The castle looms around them, irrepressibly gray, huge and silent. The only noises are the people, rustling as they extract themselves from their sarcophagi and look for exits along the arching walkways.

Better take a look around, and see if anyone else knows what's going on.

[Willow stays where she is, not surprised that the girl would jerk away in context like this. She doesn't want to make her more nervous than she has to be already.]

I don't know, [she answers gently.] None of us do. We woke up here just like you did, only a little bit earlier. My name's Willow.

[Maybe if she introduces herself like normal, it'll help her calm down? Normalcy helps Willow calm down, at least.]

[pinetreemary]

'We'? How many- [A million questions fight for attention in her mind, but the introduction forces her to focus for a second as she mentally runs through the unfamiliar process of meeting someone.]

Willow? Oh, like...like the tree. [Pause.] I'm. I'm Marnie.

[Paaause. Yeah, that went pretty well, she thinks.] Willow. Is this...supposed to be a kidnapping?

[guiltapalooza]

Honestly, I don't know that either. Sorry. We're all pretty clueless.

Come on, we can at least get you out of the rubble. [She rises to her feet and takes a couple steps backward to give her some room, trying to keep project a soothing demeanor.]

[pinetreemary]

[Marnie slowly stands as well, possibly a bit more cautiously than she intends but taking advantage of the situation to cover any oddness in her actions- a nervous tug at her long skirt, an awkward sidestep around a larger piece of stone. Her gaze keeps flickering back to Willow, still tense but not fearful.]

What are we supposed to do now? I don't want to stay here.

[guiltapalooza]

[Willow doesn't think anything of her caution, in fact thinks it's natural, and is just glad that she doesn't seem to be afraid.]

There's a less incredibly creepy set of rooms out through a door over there. [She nods toward one end of the massive, looming hall.] It's pretty much all we've got for now. But don't worry, we're all going to keep looking for answers, and a way home.

[pinetreemary]

Less creepy. Well, that shouldn't be hard. [She mutters sarcastically, giving a pointed gaze at their surroundings.]

[guiltapalooza]

I know, right? [Giving her own sardonic look at the walls.] Way to be professionally mysterious.

[Willow starts to lead her toward the previously indicated end of the hall, glancing to make sure Marnie is following.]

[She trails along after a second, staying behind the older girl but still keeping close.]

I guess it's a little original. For a mass kidnapping, at least. I was expecting an underground government lab.

[guiltapalooza]

Yeah, that's a good standard, if it's going to be mass kidnapping. I tend to think of castle kidnapping as more of a Beauty and the Beast type of thing.

Maybe there's just a lot of Beasts here?

[pinetreemary]

Maybe. I don't know. I'm not really into fairy tales. [She stares at the floor, mumbling that last part.]

I guess it'd still make me feel better, though. Knowing who did this.

[guiltapalooza]

[Not into fairy tales?! Willow has to restrain herself from getting playfully indignant. It's not really the time for it, but it does seem sad to her. She'd loved fairy tales when she was younger, especially books about fairy tales.]

I'm with you. The complete lack of info is disgruntling. But hey, we'll figure it out. I haven't seen any dangerous monsters so far-- not to say that there aren't any, but I think we're at least safe for right now? [Willow doesn't want to offer her false hope, as much as she wants to be comforting.]

[pinetreemary]

For now. [She makes a quiet frustrated noise. Way to be Debbie Downer there, Marnie.

Something else Willow said bothers her, though. It takes her a second to figure out exactly what, and when she does she stops abruptly and stares at her.] Wait. Monsters?

[guiltapalooza]

[There's a delayed reaction, but a second later Willow's stopped, too, turning back to face her.] --Uh, yeah. Monsters. [A little hesitantly,] I know it's unbelievable, but I've seen them before, and they can be pretty freaky.

I don't want to scare you-- but you, you should be prepared.

[pinetreemary]

I'm not scared. [She pouts defensively, still looking uncomfortable.] What. What do you mean by monsters?
