| Opening Log
Everyone's waking up at once, covered in bits of rubble, temporarily without abilities and with a lurking headache. The castle looms around them, irrepressibly gray, huge and silent. The only noises are the people, rustling as they extract themselves from their sarcophagi and look for exits along the arching walkways.
Better take a look around, and see if anyone else knows what's going on.

--well, then. It's nineteen-seventy-six, or it was this morning, and I don't fancy spending the rest of it in some dingy mausoleum. There must be an exit.
no subject
I haven't found an exit, yet. Only-- more castle.

[She wrinkles her nose slightly at his discovery.]
Define "more castle". Is it in as bad a state of disrepair as this?
no subject
But-- as far as I can see, it's more of the same, just a little differently designed. I haven't gone too far, though; I don't want to get turned around.

[Shoving at a small piece of rubble with the toe of her shoe.]
Let me guess - there are no maps, everything is depressingly similar with no defining features, and we are, for all intents and purposes, stuck in this motley group with no obvious means of escape. Would you agree?
no subject
That seems an accurate assessment, so far. It just means we'll have to explore to figure everything out. I hope we can find food.
no subject
[She glances around, a look of disdain warring with resignation on her face.]
Best get started, I suppose.
no subject
[he frowns, tilting his head a little and rotating carefully on his heels.] Which direction do you think we should go in? [he hardly has a preference. It's all new, unexplored territory, and keeping moving will keep his mind from worrying.]
no subject
[Her nose wrinkles in thought.]
Whichever way involves the least clambering over rocks, I suppose. [Since nobody seems to have a suitcase with them, they're limited to the clothes they're wearing. Narcissa does not fancy ruining those beyond the scope of charms to repair.]
no subject
You don't like climbing on things? [Being an Assassin means you're pretty much part monkey, really. he eyes the nearest obstacles. he can climb over them without any effort, but his robes are made for it...]
no subject
Beneath this cloak is a pencil skirt and three-inch heels, I don't think climbing is on my agenda.

O-- oh! [don't stammer, Kadar, that will just make her feel awkward--] I understand! It would be harder to climb in those.
[...though, he is a little curious--] Isn't it painful to simply walk in those?
no subject
Not overly painful if one is taught to walk properly in them-- and some shoes can be agony if one wears them too long.
Shall we..? [Best not to make a fuss. Narcissa has no issue with her clothing.]
no subject
If your feet begin to hurt, tell me!
no subject
[And she picks her way carefully through the rubble behind him.]
no subject
In Masyaf, our fashions are very different from yours. [sort of idly; he's the sort to make conversation.]
no subject
I had gathered as much. If, as you say, we're all from different points in time, then you'll probably see all sorts of fashions you aren't-- oops-- used to.
[Hidden pebble, wobbly shoe.]
no subject
Also the ease of fabrics-- I do not think we have the materials to make things like your shoes.

[Careful steps, careful steps. She wishes her head would stop aching and her magic would work.]

[and then, as an afterthought;] Many also do it for religion.

[She's not assuming it's the same for him.
There's a skittering sound as she toes aside a smallish rock.]
