Everyone's waking up at once, covered in bits of rubble, temporarily without abilities and with a lurking headache. The castle looms around them, irrepressibly gray, huge and silent. The only noises are the people, rustling as they extract themselves from their sarcophagi and look for exits along the arching walkways.

Better take a look around, and see if anyone else knows what's going on.

I was in Rome, running around the Colosseum. [He folds his arm.] So I probably wasn't anywhere near you when it happened.

Uh... no. I was in California.

Not that nabbing us from different parts of the world is impossible, but this is getting weirder by the minute. And since we don't remember anything, they're either using drugs... or magic. [Speculative frown.]

[seventeenth]

[Desmond eyes Willow skeptically.] Magic? [Not that he's allowed to talk -- Those Who Came Before technology is sort of magic all on its own. And it's ancient alien-but-not-alien technology that doesn't make any sense.]

[guiltapalooza]

Yeah, magic. Maybe I should add that I'm a witch.

I hope that's not too unbelievable, but well, we did just get kidnapped to an unidentified castle, so I sort of think we have bigger fish to fry.

[seventeenth]

[Desmond hesitates, eying Willow uncertainly for a moment.]

[But then he laughs and holds his hands up.] You know what? I can buy that. It'll hardly be the strangest thing I've ever heard.

So-- uh, witchy magic could have done this?

You're probably going to hear stranger before the day is out, [she agrees wryly.]

But, yeah, it could've. It'd be a pretty massive amount of power, though. ... I wonder if that's why we all woke up powerless and headachey? Were they sucking it out of us to fuel something? [It's an awful thought, and Willow looks disturbed to have even suggested it.]
