Scraaaaaape. Scraaaaaaaaaaaape. Scraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaape.

Ker-KLUNK Ker-KLUNK Ker-KLUNK

...

Scraaaaaaaaape...

If one were to follow the sound, they'd find a small girl working her hardest at pulling a large lump of metal- probably twice her size or more- down the hall, towards her room in the living area.

Although it was obvious it took some effort for her to move it, it seemed as if it wasn't taking too much out of her and she was getting some distance with it.

Soon, though, she determined that it was break time, and relaxed her hold on the chunk. She leaned against it and panted, wiping sweat from her forehead.

Geeze. How much farther until she got to her room?

The response had him stare at the other - even if it was something he saw as unnatural, the fact that she could move it urged him to give it a try himself. Call it a shadow of the arrogance he may have held, but he wanted to try at least. Reaching a hand out, he settled it on the mass.

"How are you performing this feat in the first place?"

"I doubt that." He's not so much as a fool that he'll believe her words entirely. At the other, he takes a step forward and straightens up, knocks a knuckle against it.

"Expecting the impossible is something I am learning to do in this place." Still. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. He places another hand against the rock and well... He tries to push at it. Tries. If it barely budges, he should have seen it coming and if it doesn't move at all, the outcome is the same.

His heels are sliding across the ground and by this point, the girl is speaking and he wants nothing of it. Straightening up, he throws her a look, raises a brow. "So exactly what is your secret?"
foolnornovice: (› are they laughing at or with me)

He's grateful he isn't as hot-headed anymore, but the words do strike some sort of chord (it's probably the sissy part that riles him up). Watching, his lips part and he can't help but stare in amazement for a moment, nodding slowly to the other. He raises a brow.

"Earthbender. A natural talent, then?
foolnornovice: (› so rate yourself)

After that, he fell quiet and only watched the other move the boulder herself. He was curious about how such a talent worked (or even existed) but he'd asked his fair share of questions about the how. After some more distance was crossed, he shifted, thinking on it.

"How are you going to use it?"

"Barricades, perhaps? If only it could hold back the creatures in this place." He was curious about how she was going to do so, but it was likely with more of this... 'bending' that she spoke of.

"Weapons and armor are good ideas, already."
foolnornovice: (› arms spread out in my very best)

"I am not sure - they can travel freely, but they can be hurt by physical means." So he believes, anyway. Thinking back to their last encounter with the creatures, he lets out a sigh.

"It could not hurt to try, at least."
foolnornovice: (› but that won't kill him)

Yes, yes he was. At the question, he stops for a moment, looks to the girl then back to the lump of metal.

"Altaïr." No need for his full name, not when there was no one of relation to him. It was not as if the name "I arrived here recently." A pause.

"And yourself?"
foolnornovice: (› tell me do you still feel this)

[personal profile] foolnornovice 2012-04-01 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
At the gesture he watches, moves to return it with a half-nod, half bow because at the least, it felt right. At the question, he quirked a brow at her, not sure.

"Too? You have met another such as myself?"
foolnornovice: (› in an act of good defiance)

As she began to explain, he leaned back and listened. It was strange to have a conversation like this with another but he wasn't going to complain about it - getting to know the others here was an ideal thing to do, and if they knew others that he already did, perhaps it could help wane away at the lack of comfort he held here.

There were only a few who bore robes similar to his, and he knew three of them. One as goofy? No doubt Kadar, as he did not believe Ezio to be as such and Malik, well.. That was another story.

"Kadar is one them, I am willing to say." Whoever provided aid to the girl could have been believed of any of them - Altaïr took in a breath. "I only have a rough idea of who the latter could be.

"Yes, from back home." A nod of the head as he watched, raising a brow at her movements. "Him and his brother."
foolnornovice: or is that Malik's thing? (› I hate hanging out with you.)

[personal profile] foolnornovice 2012-04-04 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Friends was... a stretch, wasn't it? Comrades, brothers not by blood but through practice. He relaxed a little at her words.

"Their faith in others is something I trust myself." So in turn, this girl was in his consideration, especially if Malik and Kadar had done the same for her already. "Even if their attitudes can be nothing alike at times."
foolnornovice: (› wish that you would just listen)

[personal profile] foolnornovice 2012-04-11 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
"I would believe so, yes." He nods to her, raising a brow at the grin. He isn't big on friendly greetings, so the least he can do is be respectable t the least, comfortable. The comment has the corners of his lips tug up for a moment, because the statement was true to a point. The two were similar enough (they were brothers after all), but something struck him off with the statement.

"Why is that? They bear different robes-" Then again - there was something different about the girl; her eyes, they did not... follow things, from what he could tell. Blind?

Maybe he was the blind one, considering how long it took him to infer. "-Ah."
