So far, Quatre hadn't gotten a chance to speak with either of his roommates. He'd spent most of his time with Haku, the Duos and Heero. Today however, he hadn't woken up until later, meaning he'd actually managed to get some sleep for once. Toph and Ratchet were both there, so he decided it might be a good time to be social. He pulled on one of the shirts he'd borrowed from Duo...his Duo, and then went over to Toph.

"Good morning. Sorry I haven't introduced myself yet, I'm Quatre."

Toph was lying on her bed for once. While she found them unsuitable for sleeping, she discovered that they were great for resting her senses while fully awake. She'd been lying there, reclined back against the headboard with her feet crossed at the ankles, after a nice long relaxing toe picking and nose picking... though not quite in that order.

She heard Quatre approaching and turned an ear towards him before he even spoke.

"Quatre?" she repeated, testing the name. This place had some weird names, she thought. She sat up, moving her feet to the floor and pressing them against the ground. She was able to pinpoint his position then and turned her face to him.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Toph."

He held out his hand, but then dropped it again awkwardly. "Its very nice to meet you too Toph. I guess we should get to know each other since we're going to be roommates."

No insult meant, sweet Quatre. Toph simply didn't know the hand was there. Even if she had, she likely wouldn't have known what to do with it.

"I don't think I've noticed you around here. Are you new?"

"Yes, I just got here a few days ago." He replied. She was dressed strangely, but then so were many of the other people he'd seen so far. While he had dozens of ideas of where they could have been taken and by who, none of them were very plausible or likely.

She could have said the same for Quatre, if she could have seen him. But, out of all the things she used to judge character, appearance wasn't one of them.

"Feeling better yet?" She asked. She gave him a moment to answer before continuing. "So where are you from?"

Rubbing his neck he nodded, "Better than when I first got here, but still not 100%." At the second question he took a moment to figure out how to respond, "Originally? From the L4 Colony Cluster. But earlier in the year I moved to Earth." Since Haku hadn't known anything about the colonies, he didn't expect Toph would either.

Actually...

"... you mean out in the stars with the moon and sun, right? Fake earth?"

... well, she didn't TOTALLY understand, and quite honestly, the greater portion of it was completely over her head, but Duo had told her stories.

She slid to the floor to sit there instead, fishing her canteen out from under the bed to take a sip.

"Seems like a pretty popular place."

"Fake Earth...? Well...the Colonies were build to emulate Earth's looks to a certain degree, so I suppose that's a fair assessment." He watched her slide down onto the floor and joined her a few moments later. "And yeah...I guess with four of us being from the Colonies...where are you from Toph?"

"Gaoling. I'm living in Ba Sing Se for the time being, though. My dad isn't too happy with me back home, so I'm taking an extended vacation away from him."

She had her head turned as she spoke as if it was meant more for her than him.
