[Exploring is okay, but right now Sollux doesn't really feel like doing that. He's found himself a perch on a broken-down wall with a good view of the island. It's not a bad place. But it's pretty boring with no internet.

Despite the fact that he's sitting up high and one might think he was pondering the mysteries of the universe, or escape possibilities, he's got his phone open and is poking at the guts with a microtool with intense concentration.

It'th a bit big, anyway, and it'th not like we had warning. [He turns his head and nuzzles, then speaks softly into Eridan's ear.] We're thtill kithmetheth, right?

[Eridan hunches up, and then turns to stare at Sollux, nearly bashing his head into his.]

Wwhat?! Wwhy are you askin'?! I know I havven't been as activve as I could be but wwe're in pretty fuckin' close quarters here!

Calm down! [He grabs Eridan by one horn, trying to get him to lay his head on his shoulder again]

[Eridan shrugs.] It seems fine to me. Wwe're not supposed to be killin' each other anywway, an' there's supposed to be at least some trust invvolvved, isn't there? Any quadrant's like that. I don't hate you any less, if that's wwhat you're wworryin' about.

[He's talking a little bit out of his ass, as he's always gone to Karkat for relationship advice, and if Kar thinks it's weird, maybe it is weird? He's sure as hell not going to admit it, though. He has two quadrants filled, which means he's totally NOT a fuckup, and it means he misjudged the whole hopeless thing. Probably. Even though it was pretty hopeless at the time. Ok, he didn't misjudge it, because he didn't have all the time he's had in the City and here. Good. He's still right.]

[Sollux scrapes his nails down the back of Eridan's neck, just a bit harder than necessary. The truth is, he's not sure how much he hates Eridan. He definitely doesn't want to not be his boyfriend, whatever you want to call it, though, and that's pretty much the key as far as he's concerned.

He's pretty sure Eridan is lying about how much he hates him, but the answer tells him what he feels he needs to know. Eridan doesn't want to change things between them, and neither does Sollux. And that's a bit of a relief, because 'matesprit' is really not a possibility so long as Karkat and Dave exist.]
