[Cordelia, a young women in her twenties, wearing a strange, fancy dress, was coughing, holding herself up with one hand holding onto a wall.
For a moment, she had thought they had finally caught her, had truly buried her alive. Not even that thing inside her had helped, it was subdued, far away. Somehow, the sarcophagus had broken due to her struggles - she didn't know why, and had been too confused to check, all she had wanted was getting away, away, away.
What was this place? It was huge, much bigger than the castle she had once called home. Much bigger than any castle she knew of. Earlier, she had seen something like a bedroom - it had been closed until she stepped near the statues, which had caused them to move on their own. It seemed suspicious; she hadn't lingered in there for long.
She had taken the strange device near one of the beds, however. She was confused and lost, but even then she noticed something this out of place. It must mean ...something...right?
Finally, she sat down in a small alcove, which hopefully should shield her from view if anyone was after her (the people that had put her into the sarcophagus, maybe?), where she tried to rest.
And, of course, there was also this strange device. Maybe figuring out what it did would give her a clue why she was here.
Again she coughed. Her body was only slowly getting used to its current state. Maybe she could open it...?
She could! Unfortunately, while doing so, she hit one of the buttons, causing it to test its ringtone. Whoops!
[OOC: A tad difficult to make the lost-and-confused intro post interactable, but I think the ringtone should work to show someone's hiding! I suppose she could also be encountered while walking and coughing on occasion. Her body's not used to being "powerless", so it's giving her some trouble on that front. ]

Everything all right there?
Sorry for the delay, I was sleeping due to my timezone. ^^;;;;;
...to be fair, threats don't generally ask if you are alright...
After catching her breath, calming her (rather rapidly) beating heart, she answered, glancing at the arrival curiously (even if some suspicion remained)]
Uhm, please forgive my surprise. I'm...fine. Thank you. Just...
...where is this?
[Well, her shock had clearly made her forget her manners, otherwise she'd have introduced herself first.]
No worries! Sorry I was gone the whole day, myself.
There's nothing to be sorry for.
As for this castle? No clue. Most if not all of us don't have any idea where this is.
no subject
She couldn't really know, but then, at leats he didn't attack right away. That was something. She tried a reassuring smile, which came out somewhat strained, but oh well.]
Is that true? You as well...?
Most of us? There's others?Uhm, if it isn't too imprudent to ask, did you, perchance, awake in the area with the sarcophagi?
no subject
[He'd seen quite a few people emerging from them, after all. And it wasn't an unusual question, but given the timing of it . . . ]
Did you just come from there?
no subject
Have you...
[She stopped herself in mid sentence, blinked, then sighed.]
Excuse me, forgive my manners and not introducing myself. I'm Cordelia. And if I might ask another question, what was the name of the country you came from before ...coming here?
no subject
First things first, he introduced himself.]
I'm Serge. I don't know if it sounds familiar at all to you, but I came from the Republic of Turemilia.
no subject
I'm delighted to make your acquaintance, Serge. I've never heard of a country like that, though.
I'm from...
[There was a noticeable pause, she was clearly thinking about something, before she took a breath, as if having come to some sort of resolution, and finished.]
Selenn. It's a kingdom, but none of the neighbours or even distant countries we... the kingdom trades with are named Turemilia.
Just how far away from home am I......if he truly doesn't know of Selenn, would this imply that this place is somewhat safe for me...?
no subject
That's because we're from different worlds. Don't sell yourself short; I've never heard of Selenn until now.
[It struck him as odd that she'd corrected herself mid-sentence, but he didn't pursue it.]
no subject
I think we really can settle on not being from the same world, then. This is truly troubling, though. Who'd want to take people from vastly different places to a fallen castle such as this, and what for?
Except my family of course, but surely they can't do this.no subject
There's really no way of knowing right now.
no subject
Testing us...that'd be a worrying thought, I think.
[Also made her wonder if some of the people present weren't actually the people that had brought people here. She really had no way of knowing. In fact, if that were the case...she wasn't even sure if she'd not just thank them for it.]
no subject
Why do you think that?
no subject
[She gathered her thoughts for a moment, unsure what she should say.]
For one, we don't really know what they could be testing for, any action we do might be the exactly wrong one, and we don't know what they'd do afterwards...
[Wasn't her real reason, but good enough as any.]
no subject
[A bit of a joke, but he didn't care much for pessimism, which was evident enough in his slightly playful tone.]
We haven't received any huge backlash so far, so I'm sure we're doing okay.
no subject
[She smiled nevertheless, noticing the pessimism-dispelling attempt.]
Thank you. We'll just have to make sure it stays that way, no?
no subject
Right! Now that's the way to go.
no subject
[Focusing on the positive.]
Have you met many yet?
no subject
A couple. In case you didn't know, it's almost impossible to get around without at least one other person. So teamwork is definitely a to-do thing.
no subject
[The sad part was that there was not an ounce of sarcasm in her voice. Rather envy, a little!]
no subject
She's cute, he thought, in a completely harmless way. Genuine, at the very least. He laughed.]
As flattering as it is to hear that, I think they'd prefer someone more their age.
Appropriate icon for his thoughts.
[Her guess was, alas, somewhat wrong, by another five years or so, but close enough. And besides, she had meant it positively, as her voice didn't show a hint of mockery, or the like.
But then, she had interacted with older nobles a lot, so he seeme pretty young to her. His hair wasn't greying, and he still had all of it, for example.]
asdfj cute.
Glad you think so. Hey, if you ever want to look around the castle, I wouldn't mind tagging along.

I suppose with a strange place like this, truly anything might come one's way. Do you have experienced any such danger already, if I may ask?

But once you hit them enough, they're gone just like that. I doubt it killed them. Still, it's progress.
no subject
What you say makes them sound as if their bodies are immaterial, too. Things shouldn't just disappear like that.
