He found his room. Door opened right up for him in that large green stoned chamber, but he couldn't say he slept particularly well by any means. He was still tired by the time he woke up, unsure of the correct time. Exploring the main chamber he discovered a bit of food laid out, and needless to say it was probably the worst slop he's had since he was stuck on MREs in that field mission a year back. He ate half and left it, heading back to look into the fountain. He leaned over and reached a finger in. Feels like normal water. He took a hand full and washed his hands, pulling them out and putting his wet hands to his face. That was better.
He sat at the edge, leaning his arms against his knees as he looked at the ground. He didn't know what he was supposed to do, his mind running a complete blank. So what? Explore? Figure out these damn maze like puzzles? Maybe it's just a game or something. Or maybe it's a clever death trap. He didn't have anything close to a reasonable answer, but he was hoping someone else did.
Pulling out his phone, he checked for a response to the text he had sent out to the contact labeled 'Quatre' in hopes that it was his comrade. Nothing yet. Hopefully something soon though.
"Wish I knew what the hell I'm getting into with this place."

"Wish I knew what the hell I'm getting into with this place."

"I think we should get to exploring this place sommore. I'm not one to sit around idle too long."

He gestured for Ratchet to follow him as he headed for one of the exits. "On our way to the great unknown."

"Pretty advanced tech you've got there." Duo remarks as he moves forward. He wonders silently just what exactly they're going to need that for, but then he smiles.
"A wrench as a weapon? Huh. Kinda suits ya."
no subject
He couldn't help but smirk at the comment about it suiting him. "It's been my melee weapon of choice for as long as I can remember."
no subject
"Heh. Yeah. Can't say I've really got a melee thing goin' for me. I'm more of a gun man myself. On the other hand my Gundam's got a beam scythe. That's pretty cool."
no subject
"Gundam? What's a Gundam?"
no subject
"They're mobile suits. Big fighting humanoid robots made with Gundanium alloy." Actually, it was funny. He didn't intend to tell anyone about the gundams before now. He just didn't think they'd get it. Ratchet on the other hand?
no subject
"Okay. Those sound awesome. I want to hear everything about them. What is Gundanium Alloy like? How is it made? How strong is it?" So many questions just poured out of him, like an excited child.
no subject
"Impact tolerance? Hell, it's nearly indestructible. Reflects metal projectiles, it's non magnetic, and unless you have a high powered beam canon you're not going to do much damage to a gundam with armor coated with an energy deflector."
no subject
"Wow. That's a amazing. If I could get some of that stuff for armor. Hmmm. Back home that...." He froze for a moment and his ears drooped. Fuck...why was he even thinking about that? Wasn't like it was possible anymore. He shook the thoughts from his head and smiled again.
"So what was that beam saber thing like you mentioned?"
no subject
"Beam saber? It's a scythe on mine, but most standard models have the saber in close quarters combat. Doesn't do you any good if you don't know how to use it." And he's met plenty of enemies who fell to him far too easily for that very reason. "Think compact nuclear fusion generators, focused into a semi solid energy blade. With my scythe I've even got a curve on it."
no subject
"I had a weapon like that once. Energy razors. They were gauntlets that had energy blades that sprang out when I swung my arms. Could cut through a lot. And the more I swung, the stronger the energy output got."
no subject
"I think we might have to trade from tech knowledge, ratchet. If I installed that on Deathscythe I'd be almost unstoppable. Too bad I didn't meet you two years ago." That would have helped! Maybe then he could have destroyed the Bartons and ended the war sooner.
no subject
"A tech trade? I don't mind. Some Gundanium armor would be awesome if you ask me. Let's go. I want to see what's ahead." Ratchet walked through the door and into the hallway.

Duo went on, and he took in a deep breath. Looking up, he saw windows leading out to the sunlight. "Wonder if we're on our way outside?"
no subject
"Maybe. Fresh air would be nice."
no subject
"There's something under that box right there." Duo said, moving over to approach it. He put his hands to it and pushed it, then put his weight into it. It budged.
Huff. "Maaaaan--that thing is heavy."
no subject
"Let me help you out there. On three?"
no subject
"--three!" He began to push that box aside.

A creek of stone could be heard from around the corner as a circular stair well rose from the ground, up to a raised platform that led into another corridor.
"Heh. Isn't that something?"
no subject
"Yeah, that is something alright. Come on. Let's see where it goes." The Lombax jobbed the the staircase and and started running up.
no subject
"It goes outside!" Duo said with a smile. He hadn't done that yet. Hadn't yet made it to the outside, and he really wanted to get a look at the place.
