Their brief collision sent him stumbling, catching himself against the wall as Duo dropped from the stairs. he regained his balance after a moment or so and dropped from the stairs himself, though landing in much better shape than Duo.

Duo went for his scythe and he took the moment to move for it himself, reaching out and grabbing it right before the other pilot could get his hand on it.
