[Trying doors until one opens is tedious work. His old hands are throbbing. (No, really, don't give him that pitiful look.) But his efforts aren't in vain; Serge grins when a room finally allows him entrance, only to arch a brow at the decidedly bare and boring interior. The one thing that manages to sustain his attention is the smartphone, which he pockets. He figures he can take it. It doesn't look like anyone has been living there, much less own anything in it.

He doesn't stay for long. There isn't much to see. Not even a place to clean . . . After that sarcophagus business, he feels gross.

Then he's at the spring, and it's hardly an encouraging sight. Stepping inside, Serge sighs.]

Are they serious? I know communal baths used to be a thing, but that's in the past!

[ . . . Maybe he can get a nice view or two in the future. Provided they're nothing like Leslie, he's sure he'll be safe. Hopefully. Oh, who's he kidding; this is silly.

He pulls the smartphone out.]

What am I supposed to do with this, anyway?

[He manages to boot it up -- wow, it has his name. That means it's his, right? And it even has a list of other names. He recognizes a few. Serge proceeds to mess with someone while tapping his foot expectantly. And then some.]

He's hitting up names that sound like those of girls, but that doesn't mean his judgment is foolproof, or that he didn't click the wrong name, or that he didn't decide to diversify. )

[He knows how it feels to be frustrated with the door opening. While he has not been going at it so readily, it seems that every door he turns to open is closed or is filled with nothing of worth behind it. Since his arrival he has been venturing throughout the place, and now--he was pretty much doing the same thing with he notes the other figure pulling at the door handles. While the others appearance is strange and new, his brother did have a point, meeting others and gaining information was part of his job and if he could do it homeward then he could do the same thing there.

Still, it required trust and building said trust so for once he stepped over his pride and looked to the other as he turned the hallway corner.] Your hands look raw.

Are you that desperate to seek entrance?

Do they?

[Looking Malik's way, Serge flexes his hands. Well, it's nowhere as bad as when he first started wielding bladed weapons. They're just a little tired from the repetitive motion of grabbing and pulling. Not a big deal at all, in his opinion. He can do this the whole day -- not that he would.]

Desperate's a bit extreme. I'm just interested in a change of scenery.

[dai]

No one can blame you for that. [Came the reply as he looked to the man for a moment more then too the surrounding area.] This place seems intent on keeping us locked out from anything that might provide us with answers.

Frustrating overall.

Right? You'd think they'd at least leave a clue or something. But all we get are locked doors and strange green-faced statues.

[dai]

[Finally a figure that has mild reason--they've been rare thus far.] They're making it difficult.

It's beyond reason, why bring so many different people here with not a single clue asides how abysmal this place is.

[sagacity]

[He shrugs. That question's probably been asked enough times without receiving any answer. It's something he hasn't dwelled on much as a result.]

At least we've got strength in numbers. Whoever's behind this, maybe they want to test our teamwork.

[dai]

It depends on if you can get so many people to work together in a group. It's surprisingly difficult and at this point, everyone has their own motives. [He arches an eyebrow at the other.]

[sagacity]

What's with that look?

[Anyway,] All of us may have our own agenda, but everyone I've spoken to so far has expressed an interest in leaving. A common goal should rally some of us together, wouldn't you say?

[dai]

There is no meaning behind it, simply that I'm unsure that people will work that well together.

[He gives a wave of his head.] I would say, but I have not met many outside of my own realm.

[sagacity]

. . . Ah. Well, I'm sure plenty of us have more than enough time if you ever want to just socialize. And maybe things will start taking off from there.

[dai]

I think we all have enough time to socialize, unfortunately but still--I thank you for your insight. [He leveled his gaze with the other, the severity still upon his features but he would allow the man his space.]

Do you have a name I might call you by the future?

[sagacity]

[Insight? He gives a wand of his hand, dismissing what he said as being anything insightful.

Somewhere in the back of his mind, he's convinced that that's the man's normal face, if not close to it.]

Serge. You?

[dai]

Malik Al-Sayf. [He murmurs with a bow of his head. The other seems to fancily dressed, and the wave of his dismissal causes irk to rise within his gut as can be seen with a mild narrowing of the brow but still, he can be civil for now.]

[sagacity]

[Eyeing the doors again momentarily, he looks back to Malik with a nod. Now that they've gotten the good old name exchange out of the way . . . ]

So I guess I'll catch you around sometime. Unless you prefer to work alone?

[dai]

[He gives the other a steady look before turning to leave after speaking.] I have my contacts, but in this place it would be unwise to not be open to others.
