[Open] .2nd Fantasy Impromptu.

There would be a new sound in the castle this morning. A certain recent arrival had managed to make her first wish at the fountain, and gotten it the very next day, much to her joy.

So out in the room just past the old bridge, the lyrical strains of an acoustic guitar could be heard, followed by a voice singing in Japanese to the bubbly song.

Join? Interrupt? Listen from a distance?

"Ah... a-ano... sorry, 'san' is an honorific. A title. It's... it's like..."

What did Quatre say it was similar to?

"Like saying 'Mister Ratchet' in English."

"Oh, I see. Well you can just call me Ratchet, that's fine." Ratchet shrugged and smiled at her.

"Really?" Haku blinked. It seemed... improper, given how she had been instructed for so much of her existence. But... if some one requested to be called something else, it would have been just as rude to ignore it.

"Alright then, Ratchet."

Ratchet smiled and gave her a nod. "See? That isn't so bad. So what should I call you?"

"Me?"

Oh, she hadn't introduced herself at all, had she?

"Ah... I'm sorry! I'm Haku Yowane. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ratchet," Haku said with a quick and slightly awkward bow, her guitar still in the way.

"Well nice to meet you Haku. So, you doing to play another song? I'd like to hear one."

[sakedrinking]

"You would? Uhm..."

She fiddled with the cords on the guitar, plucking out a random tune.

"Any requests?"

[last_lombax]

"Requests? You probably don't know any songs I like. So play whatever you want."

[sakedrinking]

"Okay..."

A few more cords were randomly played before she finally settled on something, singing along as she played.

[last_lombax]

Ratchet said no more and sat back with a smile. He let the music play, swaying with the beat half way through and till the end. The old expression was true; music did soothe the savage beast.

Haku smiled as the song ended and the last note rang out through the chamber, echoing off the walls.

"I hope that was good..." she said, fidgeting nervously with her guitar.

"That was great, Haku." Ratchet gave her a small applause and a happy smile.

"You're really good. Do you preform for people or anything?"

"Mm..." Haku nodded slowly, slipping her guitar on to her back. "I'm a Vocaloid."

[last_lombax]

"A vocaloid? What's a vocaloid? Is that the name of your species?"

[sakedrinking]

"Uhm... a-actually it stands for... Vocal-Android."

[last_lombax]

Ratchet's expression went from curious to shining happy child in a candy store.

"An android?! A real android!" He laughed happily and quickly ran around Haku, looking her over with a shining critial eye.

"I've never seen an android that looked this organic! How were you made? What is your skin made of? Can you feel sensations? How do you see? Black and white or full HD color quality? What powers you? How do you sing so well? Were you built to sing or do you have weapon capabilities?"

Haku blinked several times rapidly, trying to keep up with Ratchet's questions.

"U-uhm... I... ... I was... built for singing and performance... I see in color... and--... I'm sorry, what was the rest of that?" she asked after a bit, laughing nervously.

Ratchet chuckled and scratched the back of his head.

"Sorry if I got...over excited there. But...I haven't seen an android since I arrived. I was hoping some robots would be brought here and well...here you are! How does your skin work and what powers you?"

[sakedrinking]

"O-oh... it's... just synthetic... and... what powers me is rather complicated..."

[last_lombax]

"Wow. So can you actually feel things too?"

[sakedrinking]

"Of course. I have fully integrated nerve receptors," Haku answered with a nod.

[last_lombax]

"Hot damn. You are amazing Haku. Truly."

[sakedrinking]

"R-really?"

Haku's cheeks went bright red at the compliment, eyes slightly wide.

[last_lombax]

Ratchet had to laugh when he say her cheeks turn red. She was both beautiful and cute. A nice combo.

"I mean it. The robots back home don't have synthetic skin like yours. Just metal shells."

[sakedrinking]

"W-well... Vocaloid... we're supposed to be virtual idols. We have to look, act and... feel as close to human as possible."

Sometimes too close. But those were memories Haku tried very hard to suppress as much as possible.

"If we didn't look like this then we probably wouldn't be accepted. We're the most advanced robotics around, after all."
