If anyone should happen to head off to explore the castle today they might encounter a glowing teenage boy floating several feet above the ground and pushing a hand against a wall with a puzzled look to his face.

"Still solid?  Why?  I should be able to go right through this."

"Usually." He answers absently as he floats over the edge and peers down at the tracks. "I mean, why would something useful like that just be sitting around? It's always a trap."

"Seems like nothing out here was actually used for anything. Like someone built the whole damn thing and just up and left." He peered over them, tapping his chin and looking down.

"I'd climb down but I've got frequent flyer miles with Air Phantom, don't I?" He snorted a laugh and grinned over to his young ally.

Danny rolls his eyes. "Somehow I'm getting the feeling I'm going to be on cargo duty for a while."

Duo chuckles mirthlessly. "Super powers are a gift and a curse, aren't they? I'll pay you back, Danny. Don't worry."

"Just don't spill my identity to anyone who wants to dissect me and we'll be even."

[stillshinigami]

"I promise, I promise. Don't make me repeat myself." He said with a smart assed grin. They'd already been through his once before!

"You really don't think nobody else is gonna figure it out?"

"It's a big issue for me." He shrugs and glances away with a troubled expression. "I have to try. Most people don't take the whole ghost thing nearly this well."

"The ghost thing is kinda secondary to the whole fact that I'm stuck in a world where nothing makes sense. So you're a ghost. So what? Ratchet's an alien, Toph bends Earth to her will, and I've got myself a doppleganger from my recent past." He gave a dismissive shrug, sighing.

"The ghost thing is normal here. Sides, I know who to call..." he chuckled at that movie reference. He'd only just seen it back home and he was hoping Danny would catch on.

"Ha. Ha. Very funny."

He glances away. "Maybe its paranoid, but I've had too many encounters with ghost hunters."

[stillshinigami]

"Hey? You want funny? Me talking to you being a ghost? I'm a ghost whisperer now aren't I? A medium. A crack pot who speaks with the dearly departed!" Duo laughs a bit to himself.

"I appreciate your concerns. I'd have em' too." He shrugs. "You can trust me though. I won't say anything." Ain't any of his business telling people the secrets of others.

"I'll tell you a secret. Television gets everything wrong."

He shrugs. My sister would say I have trusts issues. Me? I say it isn't paranoia if it keeps you safe."

"That's a simple truth, not a secret." Duo points out and walks along a stretch of stone slab to see if he can climb down anywhere. He was still limping a bit from the last time he was out here, but it was healing up pretty good.

"I had a secret identity once. Had to come up with a fake name for myself and everything." It was actually kind of fun.

"What was it?"

"Maxwell Edison."

He snickers. "That's awesome."

[stillshinigami]

"I thought so." He laughed a bit and shrugged.

"Just seemed like going to school was easier than sitting around and doing nothing."

"That depends on the school. Most days I'd rather be fighting ghosts than dealing with all that stuff."

[stillshinigami]

"It was just an inner city school. Regular kids." He snorted out his nose. "You got a better gig than me. I wouldn't have minded getting stuck with some super power and have to deal with little city troubles and big badguys but..."

Eh. "It's just a little more complicated."

That and it was just not something he wanted to talk about. Would Danny even get it? He's like right out of a comic book!

Danny stills and says nothing for a long moment. "It isn't as fun as it sounds."

"Hm. But it's fun sometimes, right? Get past the dramatics? You can fly, go invisible." He started sniggering under his breath.

"Man, I wouldn't mind having that power for a day." Ladies locker rooms beware!

"Flying is nice. But it isn't a game."

[stillshinigami]

"But does it always have to be serious?" He smiled at Danny.

"The one thing you don't wanna do, is grow up and look back on your life and wonder why you never had more fun. Why you never got to act like a kid." Aaand that's a little bit of his life right there. He's not gonna act like he's sad about it. But it was good advice.

"My sister would say I'm not mature enough." He snorts. "I do okay. You know, watching movies and stuff in between ghost invasions. But what I do is important. I've already learned that lesson."

"Sounds like a good life to me. Not everybody gets a calling." He shrugs a little bit and spots a ladder down to the trolly area.

"Metaphorically." He corrected, heading over and climbing down.
