"It probably turned off... I'm sorry if that worried you! Normally you'd be able to feel something. See?"

She held her wrist out to him, and should he touch it there would be a similar sensation to a regular pulse, except fainter, and only beating once instead of the normal 'thump-thump' of a human heart.
