Duo's shouting startled Toph and she flinched, covering her sensitive ears. She had half a mind to cover his mouth, too, but didn't think that would accomplish much to calm him down.

She turned towards the others.

"What's wrong with him? We heard him screaming from down the hall. He sounded like something was killing him."

For all he knew, someone was, but she didn't understand that.
