For a moment, she's confused –– what does that even mean, risking changing the outcome of their meeting? This time thing, just the mere suggestion that people from different centuries can somehow exist simultaneously or effect each other is boggling. It simply hadn't occurred to her that they could change what had obviously already happened for her, or for the people from the far future.
